Each year, millions of electronics are sent to landfills when they become obsolete to their owners. When improperly disposed of in these landfills, materials such as heavy metals, plastics and glass cause pollution to the surrounding environment. Yet, nearly 100% of such electronics can be recycled, thus significantly decreasing the continuous demand for the harvesting of raw materials.
